Dr. Girish Kawthekar

Dr. Girish Kawthekar is a Senior Interventional Cardiologist at CHL Hospital, Indore, where he has been working since 2001& Also visits in Apple Hospital. He is also Honorary Consultant (since 1993) at Choithram Hospital, Vishesh Hospital, Bhandari Hospital, and Gokuldas Hospital, all of which are in Indore.

Dr. Kawthekar received the MBBS degree from MGM College, Indore, in 1982. He completed the MD (Internal Medicine) postgraduate degree programme in 1986. He then went on to obtain a DCM ("Diploma" of "College de Médecine") in Cardiology, from St. Antoine Tenon Hospital in Paris, France (1990).

During the years of his studies, internship, and residency, Dr. Kawthekar gained experience at several hospitals in India and abroad, including Tenon Hospital (Paris, France), Choithram Hospital & Research Centre (Indore), Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre (Mumbai) and MY Hospital (Indore).

Dr. Kawthekar has vast experience in Interventional Cardiology, having performed over 10,000 Coronary Angiography procedures and 4,000 PTCAs (Angioplasty). He has also done innumerable Balloon Mitral Valvotomies, Pacemaker Implantations, and ASD & VSD Device Closures.

In his days at MGM Medical College, Dr. Kawthekar was active in sports, representing his college in Badminton (Captain), Chess, Volleyball and Football.
